The son of the highly esteemed German artist Ewerdt Hilgemann and his friendship with artists such as Francois Morellet, Ad Dekkers, herman de vries, Ulay, Marinus Boezem, Sjoerd Buisman, Jan van Munster, Riszard Winiarski, Zdenek Sykora, Norman Dilworth, Kenneth Martin, to name a few, certainly initiated a key inspiration and basic experience for Kai’s later activities in the field of art.

NEW YORK – EWERDT HILGEMANN - ’MOMENTS IN A STREAM’ A series of seven stainless steel sculptures by a distinguished Amsterdam- based German artist Ewerdt Hilgemann landed on Park Avenue in New York on August 1, 2014. Entitled “Moments in a Stream“, Hilgemann’s installation paraded along the avenue in seven locations, from 52nd Street to 67th Street, with large-scale pieces -some in groups of two or more- placed on the grassy medians. The seven sculptures, ranging from 8 to 20 feet in height, were created specially for the Park Avenue installation.
